General Fonseka resigns as Chief of Defense Staff

General Sarath Fonseka resigned as the Chief of Defense Staff today, UNP MP Ravi Karunanayaka told Daily Mirror Online a short while ago. General Fonseka is expected to make a former announcement over his resignation later this evening.
